GUARDIAN®RESET RELIEF VALVES

Guardian® reset relief valves installed for drilling applications, onshore and offshore, provide consistent over-pressure protection for mud pumps operating under a variety of pressure and flow conditions.  The valve line successfully reduces operating costs while maintaining the highest safety and quality standards.  As the OEM, Marathon Valve maintains stringent quality control on our safety valves and has engineered the valve line with the enhanced safety, performance, and ease of maintainability most operators require in today’s competitive market. The Guardian® valve line is designed, per API 6A specifications, with working pressures up to 10,000 PSI that meet or exceed the industry requirements for installations.

Specifically, for offshore rigs the Guardian® RX reset relief valve has been approved through the ABS Type Approval Program and carries the Product Design Assessment (PDA) certification. This marine type approval ensures Guardian® valves can be installed on mud pumps for drilling operations on all offshore rigs including the following: jack-up’s, semi-submersible’s, platform modular rigs, drill ships, mobile offshore units (MODU) or a facility classed or to be classed by ABS.

GUARDIAN® SEAL GUARD®

Titanium Seal Guard® automatically covers the lower piston seal from drilling mud and high pressures when the valve fully opens to relieve pressure.

GUARDIAN® TRIGGER MECHANISM

Designed within the valve for consistent, dependable operation by reducing the number of parts the valve will consistently open at pre-set pressure settings.

GUARDIAN® SEALS

The energized seals allow for easy setting of the valve while ensuring proper sealing at high pressures.

GUARDIAN® VALVE BODY INSERT

The inherent corrosive resistant properties of the stainless-steel valve body insert eliminates the unpredictability factor of corrosion and erosion. In the closed position, all surfaces in contact with drilling mud are stainless-steel in our valves.

GUARDIAN® PISTON

The proprietary coating applied to the piston protects critical seal surfaces and increases the valve’s service life allowing for consistent resetting and calibration.

GUARDIAN® OUTER RETAINER

Stainless-steel seal retainer is able to hold high pressures and absorb the shock of the valve opening. The design encases the lower piston seal to prevent seal blowout.

Using latest technology of an epoxy urethane combination applied to exterior parts.

GUARDIAN® SUB

The stainless-steel sub is designed with the largest port in the industry to allow for the fastest relief of pressure and best handling of solids. The sub’s anti-corrosive properties prevent a potential leak path within the valve.
